Switched Reluctance Drive (SRD) is the latest speed control system with the highest costperformance in the world. The switched reluctance motor drive system stands out for its simplestructure, reliable operation, large torque inertia ratio, high efficiency and low cost. lt has simplestructure without permanent magnet, no winding and no brush on the rotor, and has good speecregulation performance in a very wide speed range, so it has a strong competitiveness compared withthe permanent magnet brushless DC motor and induction motor.

 

SRD Feature

HIGH RELIABILITY 
1. The motor rotor has no winding, no commutator and electric brush, no cooling, solid and reliable structure.
2. The power device of the driver will not have straight-through short circuit.

 

LOW MOTOR MOMENT OF INERTIA
1. Rotor moment of inertia is only about 50% of the same specification of variable frequency motor.

 

HIGH OVERLOAD CAPACITY,STARTING TORQUE, LOW STARTING CURRENT
1. The output torque reaches above 200% of the rated torque at 1.0~50% of the rated speed.
2. The starting torque shall reach at least 250% of the rated torque.
3. When the starting torque is 50%, the starting current is only 20% of the rated current, with small impact on the power grid.

 

LOW MOTOR MOMENT OF INERTIA
1. The rated current of the motor is only about 92% of the variable frequency motor of the same specification, and the rated point efficiency is 0.5~2% higher than the variable frequency motor of the same specification.
2. High-efficiency zone width. The non-rated point efficiency is significantly higher than the variable frequency motor, especially at low load and lowv speed.
3. The low inertia reduces the kinetic energy loss of the motor itself,especially in the case of frequent start-stop or forward and reverse rotation,and the energy saving in some applications is more than 20%.

1.When the drive is placed in a closed space.such as an electrical cabinet. the ventilation capacity ofthe enclosed space to the outside should be ateast greater than the air volume of the drive in the table above to prevent a significant increase in the ambient temperature where the crive islocated.
2.The resistance value of the resistor should be determined according to the standard and minimum values in the table above.lt should not be lessthan the minimum value or sligntly higher than the standard value but there is a risk of the driver skipping the votage protection due to excessiveinstantaneous brakingforce.
